Happy Fourth of July everyone!
Coupled with fun times with family and friends on July 4th, there are the yearly firework displays. Aren't they awesome! New York's was fascinating (as usual).
Thank you God for your continued and undeserved favor (grace) on this country. What grace is this.
Thank you to our servicemen and their families who endure long and difficult times of separation and anxiety about the well being of their family members in the service. Hats off to them all for their service, bravery and dedication in keeping our country and it's people free and safe. There are no words that can say an adequate thank you...

A group of us recently filled up a bunch of military boxes with snacks and other items requested by the military. Then we shipped them via the post office to a troupe serving...
It was expensive because of the weight but a privilege to send.
Sometimes I imagine one of the men or women serving overseas and feeling forgotten. Then they hear their name called and are handed one of the boxes of snacks and things. Compliments of people who care.
Anyways. I got an idea to be creative with some of the snacks and build a Snack Shack of Thanks.

It was really fun to make and a cool gift. You could surprise anyone with one of these and be as creative as you want to be with what snacks you use to layer your snack shack.
For this gift, I found and recycled a plastic container, removed the lid, wrapped a tall coconut water in white tissue paper and dropped it in the center of the open plastic container.
I decorated the outside of the plastic container with Granola bars. I left a space in the first outer layer of granola bars to appear like there is a door to the shack.
Around the rim of the plastic container I secured baggies filled with raw nuts and various trail mixes.
The roof is made of another layer of Granola bars and topped with a roll of organic dry granola cereal.
On top of that layer is 2 tiny containers of organic pop corn. Since this particular soldier is home, organic pop corn won't be hard to make.
I embellished the outside of the shack with a flag and a few decals to make it more interesting.
This young soldier is sure to have fun plucking from his Snack Shack for an afternoon treat and washing it down with some yummy coconut water!
By the way, coconut water is the fastest, safest and best way to beat dehydration ever!
For this craft I used none other than glue dots. I have found them to be the most reliable and sticky dots for crafts.
Until next time...
Judy
